Electronic Check Conversion

The Difference Between Debit and Credit

Have you ever written a check for a shopping purchase and the clerk hands you back the check? The clerk has used the information on your check to convert the payment request to an electronic format. The amount of the check will be deducted from your account as usual but probably sooner than it would have if the paper check had been used. This new transaction is called Electronic Check Conversion or "E-check". We have provided a link below to a consumer-oriented website that will give you more information about this growing procedure in the banking industry. The website is at Electronic-check.org

Did You Know ?

Unlike many other financial institutions, Citizens Federal processes all business for the full day. Our computers process in what is called a "real time" environment. We do not have a "cutoff" time when your deposit or any transaction is carried over to the following day. Every deposit received is credited to your account at the time you present it to us. And, of course, you get interest for every day your money is in your account. We think that is a real plus and just one of the great services we provide for our customers.
